In accordance with the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China and the relevant provisions, the National Health Commission has made a compilation of the directories and applicable food safety standards of new food raw material, new food additives and new food-related products (referred to as “Three New Food”) announced from 2009 to 2021.
Regarding the differences, this Notice shall prevail. An 18-month transition period for the list of new food raw materials and the applicable food safety standards. New food raw materials produced according to the previous standards and requirements before the release of the announcement, or during the transition period can be sold and used until the end of the shelf life. The food safety indicators of “Three New Food” announced after 2022 shall be implemented in accordance with the requirements at the time of release.
