Introduction:
Termination of review is one of the professional review conclusions for the application of new food raw materials (novel food) in China. The staff of the New Food Raw Materials Professional Review Committee will make a technical review conclusion of the final stop of review under the following circumstances:
(1) Reviewed as or substantially equivalent to common food;
(2) Substantially equivalent to announced nee food raw materials;
(3) Other termination of review situations.
How to use this list:
This List of New Raw Materials for Termination of Review includes the names of the substances for the final termination of review of new food raw materials issued by regulatory authorities and relevant conclusions. It should be noted that the final inspection results of each new food raw material need to be analyzed specifically to confirm the completion of the registration obtained. For example:
When the conclusion is “substantially equivalent to the announced raw materials”, “managed as common food or local specialty food”, etc., it can be considered as another way to obtain the raw materials.
When the conclusion is that “it does not belong to the scope of registration for new food raw materials” or “it has been included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and has clear pharmacological efficacy”, it can be considered that the raw material has not actually passed expert review.
